James Cook University Hospital HIV Service

Middlesbrough

HIV clinic for people living with HIV, in the Centre for Clinical Infection (orange corridor) at the James Cook University Hospital. Clinics run on Monday and Thursday afternoons. The hospital's A&E also tests adults for HIV, hepatitis B and C and syphilis as routine whenever they have a blood test there. If a result needs following up, the hospital gets in touch; no news within 28 days means the tests were negative. Questions about A&E testing: 01642 854389. Infections can take 6 to 12 weeks to show on a test (up to 6 months for hepatitis C), so after a recent risk, get a follow-up test at a sexual health clinic.
